| I have been experiencing problems with the bolt on my Oly A2 not locking back on the last round. I have several brands of mags and all experiencing the same problem. Anyone have any ideas? |

short stroking sounds like. lack of sufficient gas delivered to the bolt carrier for proper functioning. eg--the bolt carrier isn't being propeled with enough force to go back far enough to strip another round from the top of the magazine. check the gas key to make sure it's tight. |

The issue occured even when cycling the bolt manually. I figured out what the problem was. The lower receiver had a rough spot in the groove where the bolt catch is seated. It was just enough to prevent the magazine follower from not being able to push it all the way up into position. I resolved the problem by manually working the hardened steel catch against the aluminum lower for about 30 minutes while watching TV. It worked like a charm and saved me the trouble of having to disassemble it and take a stone to the receiver. |
