I've got a DPMS AR 15. I had the upper swapped to a flat top. Went to shoot it and after about 20 rounds a case got stuck in the chamber. Once I got it out, I looked and the extractor had torn a bit off the case. Shooting Federal 55 gr FMJ. Happened again afet about another 15 rds and again after another 20. Never had the problem before. Anyone have any Ideas on whats causing it and how to fix it?? Thanks

Is the chamber real clean and DRY?

Sounds odd.

Soak the barrel/chamber in CLP or Hoppe’s solvent for a couple of hours, then scrub the hell out of it with a chamber brush.

Chances are the smith had to break out the torch to get the barrel nut loose on the old upper, and the applied heat baked in/cook the old oil coating that was in the chamber at the time into thin rough layer that you haven't clean out yet since you got the rifle back.

Just make sure it's dry after cleaning....an oily chamber will stick cases.

Sounds like you will have it under control.
