Soak the barrel/chamber in CLP or Hoppeās solvent for a couple of hours, then scrub the hell out of it with a chamber brush. Chances are the smith had to break out the torch to get the barrel nut loose on the old upper, and the applied heat baked in/cook the old oil coating that was in the chamber at the time into thin rough layer that you haven't clean out yet since you got the rifle back. |
