am posting this for a friend...we appreciate any and all help! Thanks, Tim Bolt cannot be retracted when the rifle is in safe mode. Only comes back about half way and jams up. Moving the safety to fire allows the bolt to be retracted and and can be loaded and fired. Sometimes the rifle will continue to fire until the clip is empty then the bolt locks again about half open / closed. It does not stay open locked so a new clip can be loaded and then the bolt release pushed to load the chamber and continue. Sometimes the bolt locks after a couple shots and the clip has to be removed and cleared to be able to un jam the bolt. |

You need to pull the hammer, the trigger and the disconnector. Chances are you have either a blown primer stuck in the works, or the disco spring is not installed correctly or broken. Note: The large coil side of the disconnector spring goes down into the back of the trigger channel, and the hammer spring legs will be resting on top of the trigger pin (not below the pin on the bottom of the trigger shelf. Here is the link that will walk you through pulling and reinstalling the parts. www.ar15.com/content/guides/assembly/lower/ |
