I purchased a New Rock River Arms AR-15 about a month ago and fired it for the first time this past weekend; had a blast!  But durring my firing session, I had one round fail to chamber.  It feed from the magazine, but the bolt wouldn't fully close one the round.  When I pulled the charging handle to eject the round, it wouldn't eject either.  I had to remove the mag, stick my hand through the mag well, and push the round out through the ejection port.  After that, all the other rounds fired fine.  The ammunition was Remington 55 grain FMJ from Wal-Mart.  Any ideas on what happend guys?

Thanks in Advance.

sounds like the failure to feed may have damaged the round causing it to stick

Actually, the round was stripped from the mag and the extractor was able to grab on to it.  But some how the bolt just failed to lock with that round.  When I removed the round off the bolt, it didn't appear to be damaged.  I didn't have any calipers on hand to check to see if the round was with in spec compared ot the other rounds.

Yep, USGI mag, and by mag, I mean I only have one; the one that came with the gun.  I in the process of purchasing more to see if this failure occurs again.
