Buddy and myself went to shoot today..sighting in.. after sighting in his gun,he wanted to use wolf ammo..well remington, winchester both worked everytime but soon as he switched to wolf..nothing.nada dry fire. chambered another one..same thing, so on every time on wolf. bolt closes all the way,but nothing happens. So i tried the same ammo with same mag and it went bang every time in my gun.
only thing different in our guns is Stocks, barrels. everything else is the same. He uses a DPMS 24"bull 1-9twist,with a ACE Socom stock. I use a Sabre Defense 24"hbar 1-8twist,with crane stock.

No hit on the pin at all.  Hmmm.  Did you try to fire with other ammo AFTER the Wolf?

If not, did you pull the carrier and check the firing pin?  They do break occaisionally, and sometimes in several pieces (has happened to me on a RRA).

Enough of the pin was left front and back to where everything looked normal without pulling the retaining pin and pulling the pin.

The bolt is not fully locking up.

This could be as simple as the added surface tension of the Wolf poly case compounded with a Rough/dirty chamber- hammer slightly binding on the firing pin-buffer slightly binding in the receiver extension- and so on.

Simple put, clean the rifle, then remember to lube all the bearing surfaces with a thin coat of CLP.  After charging the weapon, take a few stabs on the Forward Assist to insure that the bolt is full locked and in battery.  Now fire the weapon and see if the rifle self loads or if it jams on the following rounds.  If it runs, then great, if it jams after the first shot, see above.

Just because there's no Icon where I slap myself in the forehead.

Good advice.

we broke it down..firing pin is intact and looks perfect lubed everything up before firing...even pushed the forward assist several times and still "nothing".dry fire,no marks. I have no idea if the hammer is slightly binding on the firing pin-buffer or what not he's gone back to texas now...but ill pass the information along to him thx everyone.
