[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Trijicon front site problems....

My trijicon front sight post cracked and left the bottom half in the hole....

My question is...

Is the front sight reverse threaded or normal threaded (i.e. righty tighty lefty loosy). It looks like it may be reversed threaded as the "up" arrow is pointing in the "tightening" direction of a normal threaded screw. I am having trouble removing the bottom half of the sight and want to make sure I am tourquing it the right way.

Also if anyone has any ideas on how to remove this bottom half let me know.

The tritium post I had was properly threaded. I doubt that yours would be backwards.

SO I need to crank it "lefty loosey"?

The "up -->" (as would suggest the direction to extract it) points in the opposite direction.....

You want to twist in the direction of the up arrow.

Come to think of it, up may be clockwise, which would seem backwards, but be perfectly normal in this application.

Going in the direction of the arrow lowers the post in the sight tower. By lowering the post, the sights look lower, which is the same as raising the shot in regards to the were the rifle is aiming. The arrow is used to sight the rifle in.

Counter-clock wise will remove the post from the FSB.
