I did a search on this topic and came up empty.  My Colt AR is denting the primer when the weapon is charged.  It is not a deep dent but it concerns me that I might have a primer seated further back and would get a slam fire or something.  The same dent is present if I'm in the middle of a mag and charge the weapon to eject around.  I'm using Winchester 5.56 55 gr. white box.  Any sugestions?  Other than this problem the weapo0n functions flawlessly.

Situation normal.

The firing pin itself doesn't have enough mass alone to cause the inertia needed to ignite the primer.
