I have trouble shooting. I don't see so good. Some people have suggested that I might have better luck closing my eyes and hoping for a random hit, rather than aiming. Any advice?

Also when I load a magazine and press the bolt release, the bolt picks up a round and slides forward until the bullet nose hits the feed ramp. I must pull back on the charging handle to give it a nudge.

Everything is clean and lightly lubed with FP-10.

Either pure Zen style shooting, or buy a MG and just burst into the general vicinity.

Added: My sight has started to go to south too.  I have found that if I keep current with prescription shooting glasses as my sight worsens, the targets stay sharp. Just short of cataracts, you should be able to correct your vision with glasses.

You might try and tighten the mag catch one more turn if you’re having this problem with USGI ball type ammo.  If you using HP's, and the mag catch trick doesn't work, there's allows M-4'g the feed ramps.

Try downloading the mag by two rounds (28 instead of 30). If the first round now feeds OK, try green mag followers and/or new mag springs.
