[ARCHIVED THREAD] - What is this?

I have read a post here about this and I saved the pic. but now I don't remember anything else about it. Could someone tell me if it works any better that the factory spring or not. It is called the exring and it has a black sleve around the spring, I think it is the extracter spring but I can't remember and I don't know how to add attachments to my post Thanks Autogunner.
