I'm looking for a bundled tool set that included the following:

The essential punches needed to assemble an AR.
A double sided hammer.
AR wrench.
Anything else essential to building an AR.

I have seen a lot of kits our there, but there are 356482647582 choices. Anyone want to throw out some recommendations?

Wheeler makes some pretty good stuff.

I piece and part mine together based on experiences.

I've bought my AR specific tools and fixtures one at a time. I did a lot of research before I bought any, and I could never find a "kit" that had the exact tools I wanted. I have tools and fixtures from Wheelers. Their stuff is GTG.

plastixrevolution blocks

DPMS action wrench

Wheeler punches

Allen key set (L shaped ones so you can actually reach the PG bolt/screw)

1/4" hitch pin is a good idea too for installing front takedown detents

this will get you off to a good start.  You can get more, but this is a minimum

I you don't want "extra" stuff that may not be needed or is redundant to what you already have in the garage/shop, you may want to assemble your own kit.
Most of the things needed are common tools.

I am a fairly new homeowner and, sadly enough, I don't have any tools or a workbench yet. I think I may need to hand over my man card after saying that. Lol

I went to Cabelas this weekend and found, what I think, is a hell of a deal.

Wheeler Delta Series Professional Armorers Kit

It was on sale for 149.99 and came with The FAT wrench which is a $50 value. I took the money I saved and also picked up a Wheeler Roll Pin Punch Set.

For some this might be overkill but it also gets me started with some tools for the garage.

Its been my experience that most "kits" are full of 60% tools you wont ever use, and cheap out on the 40% of tools you will. I'd prefer to purchase the right tools as I find I need them. Wheeler is ok, some of their things are actually really good, the fat torque screwdriver comes to mind, while other parts of theirs are generally considered trash. Buy a quality armorers wrench, Magpul comes to mind as one of the better options, a good set of punches and roll pin starters, and your preferred upper/lower block, I've been using the Magpul BEV block with good results so far as a slightly cheaper alternative to have both an upper and lower block in one.
