The current sale for $479 is pretty tempting, however I really like FDE and the keymod handguard look.
Would there be any problems in starting with the Ruger, and then swapping a KMR alpha 15" keymod handguard, along with FDE grips/ stock?
Thanks!

If you have the tools to do that (swapping out fsb for FF handgaurd), you have the tools to build from scratch, which would actually be easier.

Nope works fine on my Ruger except I didn't go with the ugly FDE and went with OD Green.

Thanks, I was trying to do something cost effective, and I keep going in circles between choosing Aero, PSA, BCM.  Thought I might just jump in and go with Ruger.

Go for it, Ruger is a quality brand.  You can add or subtract components as needed, and once you catch the BRD, you undoubtedly will.  FF handguards tend to have proprietary barrel nuts, so each has its own wrench to acquire.  Personally, I like BCM's KMR line, which includes a wrench with the set, and SLR's Solo line, which uses an ordinary crescent wrench for tightening the nut.  You will also need a vise block to hold the upper receiver while cranking on the wrench. - CW
