I saw last night that Centerfire Systems had kits for $300. Anyone know who made them or if they're any good?

That's super cheap.

Anybody order from them?

Thanks for posting the link.
I ordered 2 yesterday and will report back later this week when they come in. They also did $9.99 flat rate shipping on my order, so that was nice.

I wish they would have given the gas block / lack of front sight some more thought.

I live down the road from centerfire and haven't ever really had a bad experience with them. They do sell cheap stuff, but not garbage. I would assume that the parts are anderson made, because anderson is right down the road as well. I think we are going to start seeing a lot of super cheap kits like this for a while.

Not to bad for less than $400 for a gun

That was my thinking.

The descriptions seem kinda screwy. I wanted the 7.5" but it shows a picture of a 2 piece drop in carbine handguard, utg style, in the picture, but says super slim quad rail in description. If it is all Anderson stuff I'd be very happy.
I'm looking forward to actual reviews of what people are getting. Kinda weird that nobody on arfcom has posted about getting these kits.

The description also says

"Muzzle brake (phantom design)"

but it sure looks like an A1 birdcage to me.

Still as said it's a $400 gun so it's got that going for it.  I'm not getting any of the kits cause I have a 6920 for my go to Carbine and an M4gery home build that just doesn't get used anymore.  I'd sell it but prices are so depressed right now that it just doesn't make any sense to.

Got my kits today. I feel for $300 they're a deal. They look like parts from various sources. Possible Anderson barrels (.223 Wylde). Pics later tonight

Parts all looked and went together good. I didn't like the low pro gas block and went with a rail height one.

Any brands anywhere? Lpk box? Did it look like Chinese parts?

The only name was on the stock. The rails are cheap Chinese ones and are a bitch to install. I threw the second set across the garage.  The LPK was all in bags and not in a box. It was the heavy duty bags like UTG stuff comes in so that might be the LBK MFG. Mil spec buffer tube. The upper and barrel I'm guessing are Anderson. The markings on the barrels and the finish on the uppers match Anderson Lowers.

Threw them across the garage lol ( I literally laughed out loud when I read that)
I've been screwing with a few different China hand guards and some have really poor workmanship, others are OK.  For $300 I think you did pretty good. Score!

You start doing the math and counting parts I'd replace, gas block, handguard, etc and it doesn't seem like such a good deal.
PSA sells a complete m4 upper for under $300 and lower build kit for $80~.
ETA shoot, here's a complete m4 kit for $350. and free shipping. Comes with a front sight. Figure $300 for the CFS kit plus $9 shipping, plus the front sight, plus don't they charge 3% for credit cards?

For $10 more at PSA you get into SS or nitride barrels and mid lengths.

This is what happens every time I look at those cheap kits.

The problem with these "bargain" kits is that every single piece was sourced by a single criteria, that being the absolute cheapest part available. If that's the type of finished rifle that you want, then go for it.
