| I have decided to build a SPR and have been looking at barrels. I came across Ballistic Advantage and was looking at their 18 inch 5.56 SPR barrel. Does anyone have this barrel and what are your impressions? I have never used anything from Ballistic Advantage. My next issue is finding a good 17 inch handguard for this build. Most of the HGs' I see are 15 inch and I am not sure I like the way they look with the 18 inch barrel. Does anyone have a recommendations? |

Nice rifle. What HG is that? |

Nice rifle. What HG is that? I got it here: BCRA The guy had a whole line of handguards and now they're all gone. Don't know what's up with that. This is an almost identical design except they don't offer them in 17" (15" is the longest) I've used both their 7's and 12's and they work fine. Not top of the line but not junk. Comparable to UTG or Guntec. Polymer 80 15" Contour Series |

I found this rail it is similar but made of carbon fiber: Carbon Fiber Rail
I may give it a try, it will be interesting to see how strong it is. |

I've been eyeballing this handguard for my 18" build.
I've bought a couple other handgurds from them and there ok and they ship fast and free |

That looks good, very light 16 oz. It's all relative. Midwest Industries' new 17.5" is 12.4 oz with the barrel nut. It has a unique from cutout, but they just released a new 18" without it. No weight given, but it's probably 1 oz heavier. Their larger SP ("suppressor compatible") model comes in 18" length already and it's 16 oz. |
