Hi all. I bought a couple of lowers at a good price and I think that it is time to build them out.
I'd like to do so and not spend beaucoup $ in the process. I see $59 lower parts kits at Cheaper than Dirt. Is that a good way to go? I'm not shooting competition, these will be for casual back yard shooting. As far as the uppers ... I've seen complete uppers for ~300 at local shows. I could probably get them a bit cheaper if I bought a few of them. I could make rather than buy but it seems to me that $300 and having a complete upper in my hand is not the worst idea in the world. I'm interested in your thoughts on the matter. Thanks. |

Go slow and research each part before you buy. The $59 dollar LPK is no smoking deal. The uppers I see at the gun shows are always minus the bolt grp & charging handle so figure roughly another $115 dollars, I know they must sell some but I don't know anyone personally that has purchased one. I'm hoping we might see some sales after January 20th so I'm holding off on any purchases.

PSA has LPK's on sale today for $39.99 and their Premium BCG and a Charging handle for $89.99 Just google PSA Daily Deals, their LPK's are just standard .mil spec kits, but they work fine.

Thanks.
I came across this this AM https://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/radical-firearms-16-556-nato-complete-upper-814034029995.do?utm_source=emarsys&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=PB12Days11_2016-ARR-164-001-2016-12-14+14%3A00%3A00&sc_src=email_954110&sc_lid=77171452&sc_uid=Rr6jIIaXpN&sc_llid=5368&sc_eh=55f7375347dac1541 Seems reasonably reasonable. |

Buy roll pin starter tools if you don't already own them. This!!! Maybe a spare of the smaller sizes. I just destroyed a 1/16" roll pin punch trying to remove the ejector pin from a PSA Premium bolt. Whoever put that one in used a 4 lb. shop hammer I believe. |
