Got one as a birthday present.

Have about 3-4 AR's to bring into the 21st century.

Is this safe for barrel/barrel nut and muzzle device installation?

Muzzles really should be done with barrel blocks and I also own a b-block.

Definitely OK for barrel installation.   Need to be smart on muzzle devices.   If the barrel extension is installed correctly and the flash hider at the proper torque, you are good to go.

The great thing about the BEV block is that it isn't just the barrel extension that secures it.

The front take down pin hole, bolt carrier/charging handle take some of the stress off the extension.

Correct.  The concern is still there that you could unscrew the barrel from the extension and sheer the alignment pin.
