So after countless hours of running around the interwebs, I think I've settled on the components of my 1st build.  I'm just looking for advice and any feedback anyone can offer.

CMMG complete lower
Magpul CTR or SOPMOD (does anyone know what the lockup is like on the SOPMOD?)
Magpul MOE grip
Aero Precision Upper- M4E1 14.5" w/ freefloat quadrail
BCM BCG

Please let me know if I'm making a horrible mistake! lol

Looks awful.  Everything in that list will break after 1 shot.  You must want Hillary to win.

Looks fine  OP

I prefer the sopmod over the CTR.  The CTR pulls hair out of my face every time I pull the trigger.

Lock up hasn't been an issue.  You can find them for decent prices on the EE.

Sorry, perhaps I should've used a different verb.  Lol.  Assembling?

Your doing ok , I st time assembling an AR-15 is fine. That way you at least  have your hands on one and can see how they work and  take the upper off the lower and use the YouTube videos to take the guts out in reverse order, also learn how to take the bolt apart using a clamp a 9mm casing etc.  Though a complete free fat upper is completely different because of the one nut holding the barrel to the upper instead of the old fashioned way with the assembly that way. You can purchase a blank lower, Chmmg parts kit, barrel, free float upper etc and all parts pretty cheap one  bit of adviCE if your using a low profile gas block make sure you get the template to countersunk the screws holding itbon. DPMS learned this the hard way and had massive issues with gas blocks coming loose before they figured out about counter sinking the screws good luck on your rifle, have fun modifying it and be forwarned ( you just can't own one!! ) lol once you go down the AR path you need ( want more)  welcome to the CLUB AND DON'T WAIT TO LONG BEFORE GETTING ANOTHER BECAUSE IF HILLARY IS ELECTED THEN ALL US AR-15 OWNERS ARE GOING TO BE CRIMINALS!! LOOK AT WHAT HAPPENED TO THE COP IN ( SUCKTUARY CITY WHO GOT ARRESTED FOR BUILDING HIS OWN AR AND GOT ARRESTED BECAUSE THEY ARE ILLEGAL SO WELCOME TO THE FUTURE CRIMINAL CLUB!!

Go to PSA, THEY HAVE GOOD DEALS ON UPPERS , LOWERS, PARTS ETC. better get a jump on it before Hillary might be elected because though she lied her ass off last night about not going aftervthe 2ndvamnd or our guns she has been recorded as saying THAT SCOTUS was wrong and she's going to fix that once in office as POTUS

Just curious but why specifically a BCM bolt carrier group? If you already have it sure why not, but I'm sure you can buy any mil spec BCG for cheaper.

As others had pointed out if it's a complete upper it's not really a build but congrats on "piecing" together your first AR.

rock solid build if you ask me...best BCG out there

im assuming you either have a tax stamp or will be pinning the muzzle device on the barrel?
