My first build from scratch.  I have spent the last few month buying deals when I found them on parts and slowing pulling all the parts together.  The final parts arrived yesterday and I assembled it this morning.

It's a 16 inch 300 AAC Blackout.

DPMS Lower

DPMS stock assembly (standard A2 Stock, receiver extension, and buffer)

Magpul MOE+ Grip

DPMS extruded upper

Ballistics Advantage Barrel, 300 AAC Blackout, 16 inch, 1:7 twist, pistol length gas system

Spike's Tactical pistol length gas tube

Aim Surplus low-pro gas block

KAK Industry micro flash can

Aim Surplus BCG

Anderson charging handle

Aero Precision M-Lok 15-inch forearm

Burris MTAC 1-4x24 scope

Aero Precision ultra-light extended scope mount

The only part missing is the Geissele G2S two stage trigger that will replace the standard single stage that is presently in the lower.  I also need to find and M-Lok comparable sling stud for the forearm so I can put a sling on it for hunting.

Just finished it this morning so I have not shot it yet.  Neighbors would get grumpy.  I am looking forward to seeing how well it shoots.  Planning to shoot a carbine match with it later this summer.  Probably hunt deer with it this fall.

Looks really nice! I'm just now starting the process like you did, ordering all my components as I find deals. I am brand new to the world of ARs, so I look forward to hearing about your experience as a first-timer.

I was coming here expecting to say what's important is that you like it.

But, I must say that might have the cleanest lines I've seen on any AR. You have excellent taste.

Is this your concept for a hog or deer gun?

if you put a can on it, your neighbors wont know.

Thanks guys!  Other than just being my first build it will also be a platform to start playing with 300 AAC BLK.  I am intrigue by the cartridge.  My brother has a 300 BLK carbine that will shoot nearly minute of angle out to 260 yards with handloads using the Barnes TAC-TX bullets.  I am hoping mine will be equally accurate.

The MTAC scope was a little bit of a compromise.  I wanted a 1X power scope for the occasional carbine match and the 4X should be sufficient for the ranges I might try to use 300 BLK at.  For long range matches I have a 5.56 rifle I normally use.  But primarily it will be used as a Deer/Coyote rifle.  A little more magnification might have been nice but from looking at a few scope I was very impressed with how bright it was for the price.  Where I hunt most shots are under 100 yards and 300 yards is probably as far as the terrain would allow.

Mcb, you mentioned you were going with the Geissele 2s trigger, that's what I am getting as well. Thought I would pass on that rainierarms.com is having a sale through tomorrow at midnight on all their Geissele products, including the 2s, which they have for $179.99. Just passing the info along!
