I have actually come to like Anderson for the buffer tube.  They are 7075.  I changes out the springs to Sprinco and add a heavier buffer to mine.

Yeah but with their shipping charge for just 1 item it's only a few dollars cheaper than from other vendors with free shipping.  Just something to keep in mind with Schuyler....that said I don't think I've EVER ordered just one thing from them....I seriously don't know how Chris is making money with his prices, but I'm happy  to keep throwing my money at him because he stocks what I like and has sales on what I like.

To be exact, it will be $37 shipped for that buffer tube, spring, buffer, end plate, castle nut and stock.

Palmetto State Armory has good priced Milspec buffer tubes, but it is hard to catch when they have them in stock since they go quickly. I went with BCM for my buffer tube and it wasn't too expensive I believe. As someone said, stock is all personal preference. Depending what you are using the rifle for and style. I have a B5 Systems stock. But you can find Magpul ones for cheap or Mission First Tactical has a lightweight stock that I have seen pop up more lately. Just make sure all of it is Milspec.

I went with a Anderson buffer kit...and I agree with everyone that the stocks are just going to be a matter of preferance. Standard, minimalist, ones with storage etc.
But look at all the advertisement billboards on top most of these should have their own versions of this stuff.

this being your first AR i would start with the milspec furniture, its cheap, it works - if you want more from there you can determine once the rifle is complete and in-hand.

magpul MOE furniture is hard to go wrong with and cheap as well.

I agree, the finish on the Anderson buffer tubes is top notch.
