If building a SHTF rifle, are there any BCGs that really outshine the rest? I'm not to concerned with cleaning. I want something strong that will last. Are all Mil Spec BCGs equal? This will be used in a 5.56 rifle.

thanks,
swampie

For the bolt themselves: LMT enhanced or Superbolt. JP Enhanced bolt is good as well. Relia-Bolt is good, no matter what the naysayers say (I have about 2,500 rds through one) because of a bad batch that was recalled. Haven't heard anything bad since they replaced them.

All four of these differ from mil-spec.

I was looking for a bolt that would be stronger and last longer than a standard milspec bolt. My research led me to buy LMTs enhanced bolt.

I forgot to mention in my previous post. However that would be my first pick as well.

Thanks for the replies guys. How much longer service life are we talking with the LMT? $180 is a lot of dough to me. Maybe I should just buy a couple spare mil spec bolts???

+1
or buy 2 relia-bolts.  If Sharps sorted out the first batch, this is probably the way I'd go.
