I am installing a FA on an upper. When I installed the roll pin the FA became stuck. So I figured I did not have a piece in the correct rotation, so I backed the pin out and did it over. Seems each time I fully insert the roll pin things get stuck. Halfway inserted everything works properly. What am I missing? Seems like a pretty dumb question as I have done a number of these before and never had this happen. I have tried fully inserting the FA and I have tried inserting it about halfway and each time get the same results.

Use a 3/32 punch, nail or something similar that fits through the roll pin hole first to hold the forward assist in place and make sure it is properly aligned and function test before driving the roll pin in place.
