Radical had their issues with improperly torqued extensions in the past but can anyone confirm that they have addressed the issue and corrected the problem ?
P/A is still selling the brand. I can't imagine Radical not fixing this. Anyone know ? |

As I've said before... all their barrels still have the markings at TDC. The ONLY way to achieve that is to nitride the barrel AFTER assembled. Others (such as PSA "Freedom" line) have the markings laser etched at TDC, but that can be done post nitride. Stampings can not (well, they can, but they would NOT be nitride over unless post assembly).
Bottom line: If your nitride barrel (of ANY manufacture) has markings at the ideal/preferred TDC (top dead center)... it was nitride INCORRECTELY. There is no way to have nitride TDC stampings unless it was done so BEFORE the nitride process (bad). Laser etch, yes. Stamp, no. So, Nitride with TDC stamping = bad. Laser etched at TDC or nitride with other than TDC stampings = probably done right. |

To add to this, RF gave some crock of a story about how NOW they untorque, nitride, and then retorque the BE. There is NO way to retorque something and guarantee the same end spot. That's like saying "I'll put a dot on my barrel nut, and it will end up TDC at correct torque spec". NEVER going to happen (your odds are better at winning the lottery).
They refuse to acknowledge that you can NOT mark/stamp a barrel at TDC prior to nitride (which should be done w/o BE torqued) and have it line up afterwards. Just can't happen. Yet.... they continue to put out barrels with TDC markings (I have TWO from them with exact TDC stampings). They are not being honest about their process, and I refuse to do business with them anymore. |

If so, Radical is going against known assembly procedures ? Based on your findings I'll have to pass on their barrels. Just too many quality options available at this time. |

There are so many threads on their issues. There was a recent one in AR Discussions, just this week I believe, about a loose extension on a recently purchased barrel. So many reasonably priced options these days, anyway. Good luck
