Hi there,

I've been reading on this site for some time and learned a lot to the point that I wanted to start my own build. I had bought a Bushy Carbon 15 for my first AR. I's OK but not for a lot of shooting in a short time. I haven't figured out how to upload pictures yet but here's what I have built:

New Frontier Armory 80% lower receiver
New Frontier Armory upper receiver (perfect match)
Yankee Hill 16" fluted barrel. Melonite finish
Barrett Bronze Cerakote on receiver and barrel
Yankee Hill Annihilator flash hider
Yankee Hill low profile gas block and tube
Yankee Hill Diamond mid length quad rail
Fail Zero BCG
ALG Defense ACT trigger
Hogue pistol grip
Mission First Tactical magwell grip
Magpul flip up sights
Daniel Defense stock, brown

I wasn't building for cheap. I was building a gun that I wanted but never could afford before.

Go ahead and flame away.

No flame here, thats pretty similar to what I am building. All of the parts are different, but same general idea.

Any reason you have a lot of yankee hill stuff? Was it a kit? Just asking as I have a wider variety of parts. . .

FWIW it sounds like a great build.  My first build was more of a precision build, but I am thinking the second is going to be what your goals are.....something you can put a lot of rounds through quick.

The way I post pics (I had to get help too) is I set up a Photobucket account.  Once you download the pics on their site, start looking through your album.  On the right side of the screen, it will give you 4 options on how to share photos.  Select the "Direct" link which copies a link to the picture.  Then after you have selected "post" on this site, select the "Insert Tag" that looks like a piece of mail with a mountain in front of it (4th one from the left).  Paste you link in the box that comes up.

5.56 I assume. Looking forward to seeing pics.

How does it shoot for you?
Thinking of adding optics later or stick with iron sights?

Optics or Irons is a personal choice.

There are a good many peep site set ups available for the AR Platform so if your vision is good then by all means go with Iron sights as depending on the site set up you get many are very rugged or to say that they will take a bunch of abuse and still be good to go.

If you are looking for finer accuracy at longer ranges say 100 yards and further or your eye sight is not what it used to be then optics would be the way to go.

As a side note also keep in mind that as people get older there eye sight will also decrease more often then not so if you do not need optics now you very well may need them in the not to distant future lol.
