Got this not knowing it doesn't install like a normal FSB with taper pins.  I though the bottom hole at first was threaded like a low pro gas block but it isn't.  Anyone installed one of these from Daniel Defense?

Looks like their own version of a standard virgin FSB.  It does install with taper pins, but it needs to properly mated to the barrel, drilled and reamed, and the taper pins installed.

The fsb and barrel need to be drilled for taper pins.  Not easily done at home; requires a jig and drill press.  Done wrong will make zeroing difficult or impossible.

May be best to send it off to be attached by one who has the appropriate tooling and skill.

What makes you think that is from Daniel Defense?  I don't see it listed on their website.

Never mind.  I see it listed on the Brownells website as Daniel Defense.  It also states it requires drilling and pinning in the description.

Front Sight Base CNC machined from 4140 steel, then a Salt Bath Nitride finish applied. Rear of base is serrated to reduce glare. Front sight base fits .625" gas block shoulders. Requires drilling and pinning to barrel. Includes base only.

Unless you are talking about the FSB you took off, you will not get another "traditional" FSB to fit the holes that are already on your barrel.    If you find a FSB with holes already drilled, it was removed from another barrel, and the chances of them lining up are almost nil.  Get a clamp on or set screw style gas block or FSB, or send your current new one to be professionally installed.

You can drill and tap that FSB for set screws and make it work. When I buy new barrels I buy used FSBs and drill / tap the taper pin holes as well as up through the bayonet lug and the hole below the gas port, 6 set screws in all. Never had a problem. I've also heard of people just doing 2 set screws and I recently installed a virgin FSB that way but haven't shot it yet.

I have used the two set screw method with virgin FSB's on two builds.
(One set screw using the existing hole between the sling rivet ears and
one through the bayo lug.) So far they have held fine.

You can either drill it for set screws, or what I recommend, is sending it and your barrel to ADCO to get drilled, reamed, and pinned.
