| Hello all-I spaced out and installed a standard trigger guard upside down, so the detent is captured instead of facing the drilled side of the lower. Anyone have any idea how I can get it out now that it's in there? Feeling very foolish right now... |
| I was having a distracted moment and turned the trigger guard upside down, reversing the detent into the blind hole on the lower. Bad idea. Was able to coax it out without hurting lower but trashed the trigger guard. Local shop that apparently replaces lots of standard trigger guards gave me a take-off for free. Back in business, with new appreciation for my local GS. BTW, it is a BCM govt profile upper on an anderson lower build, USMC replica rifle for a vet friend. All went together smoothly. Thx-Lt Dan |

Very, very carefully drive out the pin, then get this

I've NEVER seen a lower that had any kind of detent or dimple or whatever on the opposite side of the front of the trigger guard.
If he installed it "up-side-down", but got the detent on the front, there should be nothing holding it in there. You'd be screwed if you were trying to put the roll pin in the front though. |

OP, everything being discussed here has been less than clear, so a picture of what you did would help.
If it's just the detent being stuck in a roll pin hole, it shouldn't be difficult to push in on the detent to release it from the wrong end. If the detent is in front, but in the wrong side of the front ears, you should be able to wiggle it loose pretty easily - not just slip it out, mind you, but wiggle it with pressure toward the captured side. |
