Handy link to 'Barrel search' thread To recap, I was looking for a barrel with the following attributes: 5.56 NATO or Wylde 16" length CMV, stainless might work muzzle threaded for flash hider 1:12 twist, preferred but no faster than 1:9 HBAR profile Melonite/nitro-carburized, QPQ preferred Mid length gas port M4 feed ramps No fluting or fancy stuff. What I finally found was: Compass Lake Recon barrel Handy link to Compass Lake Recon barrel 
16.1" Recon Contour M4 Feed Ramps 1:12 twist MID Gas system, 1/2-28 threads, Proper OPS, Inc. muzzle contour for OPS collar Stainless steel, bead blasted 223 Wilde chamber Seems as though they had purchased a 'lot' of 10 or 12 of them and had some left. Once I get it I will lap the bore if needed and then send it out to be Melonited or whatever version of carob-niturizing is appropriate for stainless. |
