I finished my first AR last weekend and today I was inspecting my upper receiver and noticed this

Does that look normal?

Looks like feed ramp on barrel overlaps the feed ramp on upper, I function checked it by chambering some rounds in it, it feed and extracted fine (some scratches on the bullet after extraction, but have read that that's normal)

He's not asking about different extensions/feed ramp combos. He's asking if his look normal or if his barrel is installed incorrectly.

OP, it looks fine. If you have feeding issues, you may be able to blend the feed ramps a bit.

Its bad, would it be the barrel or my upper, most likely?

Havent fired it yet, plan on doing that this weekend. Manual feeding, I didn't experience any hangups.

Rifle barrel extension with a M4 upper receiver has the obvious potential to cause feeding issues.

Based strictly on the question "does this look normal" I provided a response.

Beyond that it looks "normal"  presuming all other factors accounted for. (proper torque, etc...)

To me it looks like the right top picture but the feed ramps on  my barrel protrude further than what is pictured in the reference picture.

You should be fine. It's hard to fully tell though with that grease oozing out.

Some people have reported intermittent problems with a lip for the round to catch on.
