Hey all, I'm a noob when it comes to all of this. I have decided to take on the challenge of assembling my first AR, and am trying to learn more as I go.  I have received great pointers and decided on the following upper from PSA:
http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/catalog/product/view/id/18919/s/16-mid-length-5-56-nato-1-7-a2-profile-without-bcg-or-charging-handle/category/4220/

One of the first things I was planning on doing is changing out the hand guard with a Magpul MOE:

From everything I've read, this should be a simple swap out operation that I can do from the comfort of my own home; no gunsmithing tools required.

Can anyone confirm this for me before I order it?

Thanks again for all of the support.  I look forward to sharing my finished product!

Not required, but a $15 handguard removal tool makes the swap much easier.

Should take 5 to 10 minutes (maybe 10 the first time).

Should take a couple seconds. I never used a handguard tool  - just wrap my index finger and thumb around the delta ring with the stock on the ground and give it some strength!

Yep, a no tools required job.
