I'm taking my full floating hand guard to use on my new build so I want to put a standard front sight block and hand guard on my current rifle. This leaves me with two questions.
I saw a video of a guy removing his front sight block. His barrel had a notch on the bottom I assume for one of the tapered pins. My barrel is a M4 profile with no notch, will I still be able to instal one on my barrel? Also, I'll probably just use a magpul moe hand guard, will those need a round or triangular cap? Thank you in advance. |

Thank you in advance. If you barrel never had regular front sight block but screw set gas block, then it will not have the 'notch'. You may have to use front sight block as guide and drill through the hole and use oversize pins |

Thank you in advance. If you want a std front sight, you should consider sending it off to ADCO to be done properly as it is real easy to screw up the alignment. Or by a clamp on style, believe Armalite sells one. Magpul moe's work with either round or triangle caps. You will also need a delta ring assembly. You do know most guy's would want to keep their barrels free floating and what your suggesting is just a pain in the ass. |
| Yea I know, but my new build is more of a "precision" rifle and want it on there. This one has become a truck gun, will be cheaper to swap it over then to buy another FRee floater. Besides I kind of miss the a frame post of the m4 I deployed with. I found a clamp on one and got it ordered. Thanks for the help. |
