Well I finally completed my first "from scratch" build.  80% lower and stripped upper.  Did it as cheaply as possible,  most parts caught on sale. Don't think it turned out too shabby.

It turned out well!  Congrats!

I just finished my first 80% lower last night, except for the trigger, I hope it arrives today so I can go to the range soon.

I went with SB15 and 10.5" bbl.

Nice.

Where did you get the in the white upper?

Thanks - apparently I dont know the correct way to post the pic - sincerely appreciate it.

I got the white upper from Ares Arms. I bought the lower on sale and they offered the white upper for about $30. I could have got it anodized but decided I wanted something different and getting a stainless barrel (Palmetto State Armory) on sale was pretty good, too.

Which jig?  Drill press?  Mill?  Did you use a vise?

I used the Juggernaught jig from JT enterprises, a Delta drill press for the drilling, I dont recall the mini-mill brand but it and the X-Y axis vice were from either Northern Tool or Harbor Freight.
