| Ok so I'm working on my first build...all is going together very nicely so far...I was putting together my upper today and noticed the forward assist pin was very tight...took forever just to get it started...so I searched on here and read tons of threads about other ppls forward assist problems however what happened to me was after I got the pin started from the bottom and put the forward assist in and finished punching the pin through I noticed the bottom of the pin began to flatten and it is sitting flush with the bottom of the reciever...the top of the pin is not flush with the hole but I can see the top of the pin itself...the forward assist works how it should but my question is since I can't get the pin to go in any further will I have any problems down the road with the forward assist getting crooked? I mean I usually like to center the pins in the holes when I punch them through so I'm not sure if having it flush on the bottom and not the top if it had any chance of wiggling out or becoming crooked...I can take a pic of necessary or if anyone has encountered this let me know if it ever became a problem for you |
| Yea having that hole on the top does bug me so that is actually a good idea...I just wasn't sure how the pin sits in the reciever like if it's not grabbing onto the far side enough if it will tilt crooked over time or not...but it is in there very tight and the FA functions like it should so I think I'll just leave it be for now...maybe just a case of ocd but you can never be too sure I guess |
