Most of the newer high quality ligbtweight handguards (BCM, Noveske, Seekins, Knights, etc) all have proprietary barrel nuts. The downside is installation. The upside is more secure installation of the handguard.
As far as ling or short, I like having as much handguard as possible. That's just my opinion though. |

They are nice and light. I suppose I could go that route again, but I also dont necessarily want a 3rd keymod rifle that's almost identical to the others. But I could go BCM keymod and have the trifecta. |

The 556 Tactical KEY MOD Evolution Series uses the standard AR Barrel nut.
