A friend of mine gave me his extra SD3G 4lb (gold) trigger spring. I had hoped to install this on a GI trigger and lighten it up some.

The spring seems much thicker and stronger than the stock GI spring I have.

I am going to guess being more robust this spring will only make my trigger more heavy?

M:  I tried the SD3G trigger, but discovered that the lighter spring results in bump fires, at least in my case, while the heavier spring is way too heavy for the intended purpose.  I called Geissele to see if they offer something in the middle, but they said no.

Later I switched to a Hiperfire 24C model trigger, which I really like.  Both triggers feature the "stroke" type of letoff instead of the usual 1 or 2-stage definite break, however, the Hiperfire is lighter than the Geissle with its lighter spring, has a shorter reset and for some reason doesn't seem to result in bump fires.  I have a habit of milking the trigger (a carry over from my bolt action rifles) and really dislike having to consciously hold the trigger to the rear after each shot, which defeats the whole idea of fast double taps. - CW
