Hey all, so I'm finally building my first AR. I placed an order for a complete kit from PSA (because they have some rocking deals going on right now), but I'm wondering if I should switch the kit I ordered.

The two kits I'm wavering between are:

PSA 16" Stainless Mid-length 1/7 Freedom Rifle Kit http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/psa-16-stainless-mid-length-1-7-freedom-rifle-kit.html
Blemished PSA 16'' M4 CMV Chrome-Lined Premium Blem Rifle Kit http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/psa-16-m4-cmv-chrome-lined-premium-blem-rifle-kit.html

It looks like pretty much everything is the same between the two, except one is (obviously) mid-length with a steel barrel and the other is a carbine with a CMV chrome lines barrel. Does anyone have any particular experience with either of these rifles, or advice as to which rifle might be a "better" choice?

Would appreciate any insight that anyone here has to offer.

I bought the stainless mid length kit. Fit and finish is good. Haven't had a chance to run it yet.

middy would be better choice imho..

However if it is your only rifle I would rather have a chrome lined middy.

Either way, I'm not a fan of the carbine....even if you don't buy into the flaws, it is nice to have the longer handguards of a middy.

Thanks for the above responses, mid-length seems to be the way to go.
