| I am building a gun for a 15 year old. I want a 18 inch barrel , but which one. I am not looking for a match rifle but not just a plinker. I have looked at Odin, white oak Rainer select and black hole weaponryas well as Criterion. Any assistance would be good. I will be putting on a reasonable optic not a red dot. |

FWIW, the 3-gunners share your need for accuracy with the 5.56 cartridge. Through years of experience in competition, they have collectively settled on 18" barrels with rifle-length gas systems as standard. Nordic and Criterion are brands they commonly dote on. I agree with ar performance for the price http://www.opticsplanet.com/weaver-rifle-scopes-v3-hunting-849400.html and this ^ for a reasonable optic if you didn't already have something in mind, I have been looking at that same scope, for the money it seems to be pretty well liked. |
