Sorry if this has been covered or is in the wrong place, but I did several searches of the forums and tried to read up on the FAQ's before I asked.
I was reading up on parts so I knew what to consider when I finally have enough cash to start building an AR-15 and I came across POF's advertisements for their new "E2 extraction chamber" and I realized I had no idea if that was its own part or part of the upper receiver. Can you explain the differences? I'm also considering (years from now) building a .308 so anything I learn now will probably be meaningful for that as well. All in all, I guess I'm trying to figure out what exactly I should look for in an upper receiver for the AR-15 platform. Thanks! |
| Ah, so it's a part of the barrel? That makes more sense. I liked the idea of it but I'm not entirely sold on POF (or any other manufacturer, for that matter) so I didn't want to lock myself in prematurely. Do you think it's worth it? Assuming it's part of the barrel I'm unsure, since I've never researched POF barrels. O.o |

worth it? not to me. not right now. extractors are cheap and easy to replace.
but, if i was .mil or le and/or my life depended on it. maybe then it could be worth it to buy a POF with an "E2 extraction chamber" here is a video of it's operation |
