Hey everybody I am building my first ar15. I currently have an alg defense QMS trigger group, a psa lower, with a rock river arms LPK and UTG A2 stock. Now I am trying to decide on a barrel. Lately I am having an idea of using a F marked FSB with a FFT. My other thought was to just use a low pro gas block, the UTG pro slim FFT and a magpul flip up set of sights. I am just wondering if anyone here runs a free float tube with with a pinned FSB. I plan to use irons at first then maybe putting a 3x9x40 scope on the rifle but not at first. Any suggestions for the build are welcome. Don't worry about high jacking the thread lol. I either want a 20" light weight barrel or 18"/16" mid-length gas system barrel.

So what is the question?
Yes, you can remove the FSPs (front sight pins) and the FSB (front sight base) when installing the FFT. It may take a BFH as some of those pins are in TIGHT. The FSB will obscure a portion of your scope's FOV, but other than being a visual irritant it won't hurt anything WRT usefulness. I finally cut the top off my FSB as I decided it would be a scope only upper. |
