What are your guys favorite BCG and why?

Spikes and value!  You get a HPT/MPI bcg.  All of mine cost $109.  You can find them for varying prices the most common is $139.  But if you buy a joebob's upper by cerro forging you can add a Spikes bcg for $119.

They work.  They last, so far.  And Tom(badazzar15) has made his presence known on this board and very helpful to both his customers and others customers.  When a guy is working that hard, I will patronize him to his stuff fails.  Which has NOT happened yet.

I also have a BCM and Fail Zero.  Haven't seen either of their people on the tech forums assisting people though.  Guess that is why my last 3 BCG's in a row are Spikes.  YMMV there are lots of good ones out there.

How do you like your Fail Zero?

It works I like it well enough.  I paid $220 for something I will never take full advantage of.  I think nickel boron is ok, but I will never, ever pay a premium for it again.  The reason is you still need to oil it.  And I clean my guns after I use them.  The clean up is mildly easier.  But if you clean your guns after you use them clean up is generally easy.  If it is something you would use and don't my paying for it, go for it.  I don't find the advantage with my anal retentive way of life.
Also be careful with copper solvent and Hoppe's #9 on NIB plated anything.  It may cause the finish to prematurely wear off.  These products will wear off nickel on other guns because most nickel plating requires a layer of copper.  Not sure on the process with NIB.  Just be aware.

Bottom line my fail zero is a functioning BCG and on that basis it is gtg.

I really liked WMD when they had the cool angular design.  Now it just looks like a regular NIB-X bcg.

I like Daniel Defense phosphate M16 BCG's. Good quality, decent price (although midrange). I'd definitely go with Rainier, Spike's, and BCM too. A lot of decent companies out there at different price ranges and options. I'm going to give PSA a shot on their premium BCG soon for a budget build.

I bought a $79 Ares Armor BCG recently and i've been happy.

I've also had good luch with BCM and Spikes

Rainier Arms anything because they are pleasure to business with, they have community representation, and stand behind their products.

I've used BCM, LMT, and Spike's. Wouldn't have a problem trusting any of them with my life.

I use the hard chrome Young National Match.  Young BCG are more of a piece of art then a gun part.  They are 1/2 ounce heaver then a standard mil-spec BCG which helps the timing.  They may seem an expensive BCG until you see and fire one.  I do upgrade the extractor and replace the gas rings with one piece.  Even though they are a target bolt I have used all types of quality ammo in mine and never had a FTF or any malfunction for that matter in thousands of rounds.  In the lower price range I have had good results with the AO standard commercial BCG.  They are really ugly but well built and work as intended.

Spikes, bcm, the v2 aims of any flavor, Rainier, whatever's on sale and in stock or suits the needs of a specific build more. Lately aim has taken my money, I've got 4 different aim v2 ones in the last 2 months, the black Friday beater (regular bdg bcg? Not v2) I got for 70 bucks has to have a case and a half of ammo through it since february and I have no complaints of it yet so I'd say they're good to go, Imo anyway. The others have known service records and reviews to be found pretty easily and everyone else already commented on them so I won't bother to repeat it all but they're all good to go too.

Buy a known good brand and run like hell from anything with the word ice on it and you should alright.

Well I have nothing to compare them with but I have installed 4 PSA Full Auto BCG's in my 4 builds and have absolutely nothing but praise for them. Just bout 3 more as spares when PSA had them for 109 (down from 209). They seem to be rock solid. 2k rounds have been through those 4 builds with not one issue with the BCG (no issues with anything else PSA either) Gas Key is staked perfect, extractor always works, I do not run my rifle soaking wet. I use Royal Purple High Temp grease on cam pin. I also put a very thin coat on the external of the BCG. Then clean and oil as suggested.

The only other BCG I have seen was a BCM in my brother in laws AR. He seems to like it. He was having issues with his rifle going into battery at the range but he had the buffer tube detent break on him. I don't think (not 100%) that it was caused by the BCG.

Tony

Until I see a problem with the PSA ones I will continue to buy and shoot with them. Cant beat the price as long as you are "patient with PSA"

$295? wow....I should have purchased kool-aid futures when I had the chance

My favorite BCG is the one that came with my rifles (have yet to have one fail, or any issues with M&P, WOA, DD BCG's)....if I was pressed, and doing a build I would recommend Spikes/BCM/Rainier Arms.  Paying over $200 for a new BCG is ridiculous IMO, and that money would be better spent on a trigger group or towards a good optic.

Dude, WTF is wrong with you??? You act like a fucking child in almost every single post you make on these forums. Nobody said anything about being a Colt fanboy, or drinking the kool-aid. Someone simply posted that you couldn't get a Colt BCG, and I replied with a post stating that one could in fact purchase a Colt BCG and then provided a link as to where it could be purchased. There really is no need for all the imbecile smart-ass remarks every time you reply to a thread

wasn't directed towards you......it was in response to anyone who would pay $295 for a BCG! I didn't insult anyone, or break any forum rules.  You on the other hand, are the one throwing insults and acting like an infant!

I mostly have LMT. They are all auto carrier groups and I got them before the whole MIM gas key drama started, and they are excellent. I just got a BCM auto BCG and it is very nice as well, and I like the dark black finish BCM uses instead of the regular grey park on the LMT carriers. I have one of AIM's NiB M16 carriers on the way which I will use for a new build, and I am excited to give NiB a try.

AIM AR/M16 .223/5.56 9310 MPI BDG Bolt Carrier Group - For the price its well made and I always shop at AIM, their CS is top notch

Bolt Carrier Group, Complete, AR-15/M16 , USGI, with HPT/MPI Marked Bolt (Fulton-Armory) - Love the BCG has not failed on me yet on my first AR. I would not hesitate to buy from again.

I would like to try a Spikes and Rainier (especially when they were going for $99 at one point in time)

I would say BCM and Spikes

all 3 of my bcms and 3 of my spikes run great!

I have both phospate and NiB spikes - for the money you cannot beat them

I have one.  It is fine.  I wont ever pay $220 again for an NIB bcg.  Not because of brand, but because phosphate works just fine for my application.  My Fail Zero has no flaws and works as expected on my part.  I would not buy it expecting to continually run it dry.  I oil mine, it is very naturally slick.  It cleans a tad bit easier than phosphate but I clean my stuff after I shoot.  I don't wait months and multiple sessions.  This is one snapshot but I would say GTG if you want to drop the $.

There's nothing special about Noveske bcg's. Not bashing them, they are good kit. Just nothing special over some other top brands.
