So I have most of parts and pieces either on hand or on order for my build, with the exception of the stock, grip and BUIS. My upper is a DSA w/13"Vtac hand guard and a ST FN CHF Barrel and an AIM Nitrided BCG. I am going with a Spikes lower a CMMG LPK, Mil Spec Buffer tube assembly.
My problem is deciding whether I want to refinish the gun (Duracoat or Rattle can) or just leave black, black w/FDE stock, grips and BUIS, or maybe go ODG or Foliage Green on the stock, grip and BUIS. I have seen several rifles in the pic threads along each of these lines that I like. Opinions? |

The Ar15.com way would be to build one of each color. I really like the FDE and I like different.. so I went OD green. Lets you have a little bit of everything. http://i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u655/Scoeyaz/Ar15/Para%20Ar15/IMG_6069_zpsdccd2013.jpg Nice collection. I will probably either keep this one black or go FDE on the furniture and shoot the piss out of it first. If its a keeper then I can refinish or build another. Hmmmm

The real question is... do you buy the rest of the parts to finish this build before you start buying parts for the next build... :) As for color, just leave the black parts black or spray paint them. Cheap, easy to remove if you change your mind about the color. |
