I am contemplating a lightweight build and looking at a DD LW barrel. The weights are not listed on the Daniel Defense site, and I am finding conflicting information on the Internet (shocking, I know).
DD just e-mailed me with the following: The 14.5 LW mid barrel is 1 pound 4 oz.. The 16" LW mid is 1 pound 6 oz. DD posted different weights in the Industry Forum and I would really like to know which one is correct. I have a feeling the actual weights are 3-4 ounces heavier than what I was e-mailed. I have a follow up e-mail in to DD, but it would be good to have someone who actually know by weighing the barrel. Those weights seem like the old .625 barrels that they discontinued in place of all .750 lightweight barrels. Has, or can anyone weigh either the 14.5" LW .750 or 16" LW .750 and post the results? Thanks. |

Never mind, I found the following in the lightweight parts thread and it confirms that the weights DD sent are the old weights. The .750 barrels are heavier.
Verification for a Daniel Defense 14.5 inch lightweight profile barrel with .750 gas block. DD-9083 644.6 grams 22.737 ounces 1.421 lbs EDIT: DD just replied and confirned the .750 barrels are about 2.5 ounces heavier than what they first quoted. |
