| All things being equal (same m4 profile barrel, carbine gas, m-16 bolt) if I change between A-1 rifle buttstock/reciever extenstion/buffer and adjustable m4 style stock/extenstion and buffer----will there be any effect/differemce on recoil impulse? |
| Yes. Because you are using springs rated at different compression weights, and buffers that also different weights in ounces. As for the amount of difference, you would need to compare them on your carbine due to different barrel markers drill out gas port diameters to different specs. The USGI M4 has a barrel gas port diameter of 0.0625" / 0.063". Also, the rifle uses a 5.2 oz buffer, so either a H6 (5.2 oz ???) or H3 (5.4 oz) buffer would be needed to match the rifle buffers weight as close as possible. |
