I have a 16" midlength Melonite Finished Voodoo Barrel that I will be replacing with an 18" wilson Combat/ White Oak barrel or maybe a douglas from HCS if my wife lets me....... I was thinking of keeping the Voodoo barrel for another build, but I already have a 14.5" pinned midlength and I dont really need a 16" when the 18" is completed. MY question is, how much can be, if any, chopped from the 16" middy as I may consider keeping it for an SBR build??? I've never had one done and do not know what can and cannot be done or how much can be taken off of it.
Of course it may just end up in the EE, but I figured I would check other options too.

Advice, knowledge, please give me some ideas

From what I have read 14" is as short as you want to go on a middy.
