I'm almost finished with my first build and in mating and operating all the parts I noticed that the charging handle was getting a little beat up in one spot.  In looking at the receiver I believe it's hitting these two raised sections on the rear of the upper.   Fwiw, the picture is not of my ar.  My computer is down and my tablet doesn't take pictures so this is just from the net.  I've seen some other photos of uppers that don't seem to have the raised area.

The charging handle is getting lightly gouged at the neck on the right top.  It doesn't look like normal surface abrasion from parts sliding past each other.

Just looking for some thoughts on this.

Thanks

Doesn't sound like it's anything out of the ordinary. Where there's friction there's wear.
