I had something happen yesterday on a new build I had never seen before.  I was putting
an upper together for my brother in law.  We got the upper assembled and the bolt wouldn't go in battery.
I swapped BCG's still the same problem,  put that bcg in another rifle it was fine. Couldn't figure out what was wrong.  We finally loosened the
gas block and knocked it back a little.  The bolt finally went into battery. Removed the gas tube and inspected it.
I found the gas tube was out of spec. It was 3/16 " too long and it wouldn't allow the bolt to seat properly.
Anyone else ever experienced this, it was a Armalite mid length gas tube.

Probably just got a bad cut on the tube from the factory. I've never had a bad tube, but I had a bad block about a month ago. The holes were drilled wrong from the factory and wouldn't line up from barrel to block. I went to buy a new block, but my local guy just swapped it for free. Once I put the new block on all worked perfectly. I imagine with the recent flooding demand on AR stuff that there are a ton of manufactures just flying through the production process and a few pieces here and there are not lining up perfectly. I would ask if you were using a rifle tube on a carbine, but at 3/16" I'm guessing this is just a flaw from the cutter. Rifle length is much more than 3/16".
