Hey all,
I am wanting to paint a bare aluminum lower. I am looking at dura-coat or something along the lines of powdercoat. Do I need to sand or blast the lower first? I have a blasting cabinet with glass beads in there currently. Thanks. |

Most companies recommend aluminum oxide or garnet sand. Glass beads will "peen" the surface and most coatings will not stick. 80-120 Grit for either will be fine.
as with the previous poster's advice, thoroughly blow out your gun and everything because there may be contaminates still hanging out! Mike |
