Hello everybody. So I finally decided to take the plunge and purchase/build my first AR. I wanted something a little more comfortable for my wife and something I am somewhat accustomed to. I have been shooting for 25+ years now and miss doing it more often. Anyway, I compiled a little list of what I have coming in and how much. I am a little upset about some of it becuase I placed the order, went back the next day to look at what I have coming in and everything went on sale which would have saved me an extra $20+. Oh well, crappy timing and anxiousness I guess.

I don't care for lasers myself, but if she's going to be semi-close range (100 yards), there are some nice inexpensive red dots. The Bushnell TRS-25 is about $100. Primary Arms has a nice micro red dot about the same, and there's always the Vortex Strikeforce for about $130.

Lasers are highly overrated IMO. You lose out on sight picture because most people look for the laser dot instead. A light depends on your intended use. Just a range toy? Not needed. Home defense? Get one.
Either a good set of iron sights or a red dot sight will serve you well. |
