Can somebody recommend a GOOD 6.8 bolt that doesn't cost $150, Nickel boron preferred. I found one on Gunbroker but the guy won't even say who manufactured it and won't answer questions. I've seen several for under $100 but are phosphate. I may have to go with the LWRC but I sure hate to pay that much just for a bolt, recently bought a whole WMD BCG for just $170.

Why nickel boron?     Seems an unnecessary risk to take with a very critical component.

Why not get a tried and true phosphate one from a quality manufacturer?

Stag, spikes and Rainer arms springs to mind.

I already have a NiB carrier, just wanted things to match. I'll look into those brands and see if I can buy just the bolt.

AR Performance super bolt is the best, $90, but they've been out for awhile

LWRC ($150) and LMT ($170) are also very good, I have one of each.

I do use Stag 6.8 bolts, but I haven't ridden them hard so I don't know about longevity.

There are fewer 6.8 bolts made, so they will tend to be a bit more expensive.

I don't know if you can buy a better bolt than the LWRC ACB (II).

Funny, I'd say the same thing about the ARP Super Bolt.  It is all I will use in my 6.8s and 6.8 based wildcats where pressure testing load data does not exist and I want the strongest bolt I can find, and for me that is the $90 SB no matter how long I have to wait.

Doesn't matter how good it is if you can't get one :)

True that.  I am never in that big a hurry though.  I need another right now but I'll wait until they are back.  To me it is worth the wait but YMMV.

If you are going to reload and actually get out of a 6.8 what it can do get the ARP superbolt.  Not disparaging the others. And the NIB thing, well I got one in 5.56 and I will never pay a premium to get one again.  Easy to clean is just not that big a priority if you take care of your stuff.

I have ran a PSA bolt for a while now and it has held up. Not to say that I wouldn't have liked to get an ARP at the time. My next one will be a ARP.

If you want a ARP then give them a call or email.

Well, those didn't last long. Guess I'll just wait on the LWRC.
