Just reading through the forums here to see what others have done, as I've been researching a parts list for my first build. I notice alot of folks seem to use the Spikes T2 Buffer. How do these really stack up against a mil spec buffer? Does this Tungsten Powder stuff really make a difference? How does it feel when you shoot compared to a standard mil spec buffer? Is the "Tungsten Powder" all advertising fluff or is it really a good and noticeable thing?

Guntechusa sells a buffer similar in weight to the T-2. 4.4 oz. I was told that the loose weights in a standard buffer floated to help control bolt bounce.
The weight of the buffer is a tuning tool, not every gun will be the same. This buffer is in between the h and the H2. it might be the ticket for your application. But who knows until you try it. Tungsten powder may be a marketing ploy, but the standard buffer weights help to reduce the bolt bounce by design. Not saying powder does not work, but know that the space between the weights catching up with the bolt counter acts the rearward motion of the BCG trying to bounce back off the barrel. |
