Does a Mid-Length upper work/cycle with an M4 lower build kit?
Would I need change spring and buffer?

depnding on how picky your upper is, a midlegth should function fine on a "m4" lower, the m4 buffer and spring are mated to the receiver extension, and are not specific on what upper they must be used with

I was not sure if gas pressure difference in carbine length vs mid-length would cause cycle issues.

I currently run a Tubb’s CS flatwire op spring and a H2 buffer with a mid-length 16” barrel.
