So after lurking for a long time I decided to do my first build. Just waiting on my pepr mount for the scope to come in then shes ready for the range. Went together fairly easy, the best lesson I learned was to be patient and wait for all the correct tools to come in. Was a little worried at first the charging handle and bcg were pretty rough but I lubed it up pretty good and hand cycled her a bunch of times and loosened right up. Question about the new barrel, ive heard both sides of the story saying they need to be broken in and some say just shoot the snot out of it. Whats the normal routine you guys go through for a new weapon?

I believe you don't have a lining in it.
Personally I'd do a break in due to it not being chrome lined. I'm a little OCD though. I followed the procedure found in a thread here. Clean barrel completely.
Fire one round. Clean. Repeat 3 more times. Fire three rounds. Clean. Repeat. Total rounds: 10 That's it. |

That's for Chrome lined. Not sure if his is CL or just Chromoly. |

OP is this your barrel (20" HBAR 1/9 twist)?
If yes, then do a break in as it is not Chrome lined. |
