I'm building a Dissipator with a 16" barrel, mid-length gas system, Armalite clamp-on A2 FSB, and Magpul MOE rifle-length handguards.
I've seen posts in the past recommending fastening the handguard cap to the FSB utilizing a bolt threaded into the gas tube channel, or making a tube-diameter "rivet" and pinning it in with a gas tube pin. What size tap / thread pattern is used for this, and can the FSB possibly be used after this for a normal installation, i.e. accept a gas tube? |

Thanks for the reply Balloo93. Your photo opened my eyes to another solution... Pin a short section of #16 drill rod in place with the gas tube pin, cut off even with the rear of the FSB, and drill and tap the rod for a buttonhead screw to hold the endcap. No need to tap the FSB itself, or grind a rollpin down.
Appreciate the help!! |
